Gallo's Notes

Gallo Wednesday Rewind

According to more than one member of the Legislature, Representative George Flaggs is partly responsible for not getting the PSC legislation done. Flaggs displayed vindictive and childish tantrums in demanding the entire Medicaid Bill be read aloud. The 82 page Bill took two hours and twenty minutes to read.

Gov. Barbour stated on the Show this morning that another Special Session will have to be called withing the next few days to take care of the matter. The lawmakers I spoke with today said the hours wasted could have been used on the PSC Bill and save taxpayers over $60,000.00 in additional cost.

Gov. Barbour also reacted to A.G. Hood's TV interview stating that he would sue the Highway Patrol if they went to work past midnight with no budget. Gov. Barbour said this morning that he would like to assure every citizen-if we didn't have a budget and Hood wanted to sue, he (Gov. Barbour) would see him in court!"
